National Garden Gift Vouchers can be spent in participating retailers across the UK. To find your nearest stores visit our store locator.

Yes. The paper vouchers usually have expiry dates printed on the back. If the voucher has no expiry date on the back, or if the expiry date is earlier than 2013, then the voucher can be spent.

For gift cards and eVouchers you can look up the expiry date by using our balance checker. Gift cards and eVouchers will expire 30 months (2 1/2 years) from the date on which they are purchased.

The vouchers have expiry dates because of accounting regulations which govern how unspent gift vouchers need to be accounted for in company accounts. Put simply, if we didn’t have or enforce an expiry date, then it would create a liability on our balance sheet that would last forever, which we cannot sustain.

No, currently paper vouchers, cards and eVouchers cannot be redeemed online.

Unfortunately, due to accounting rules, the HTA cannot extend the life of vouchers beyond the expiry date or replace them with new ones. The HTA is a not for profit organisation, it reinvests its income in promoting, representing and developing the garden industry.

It is at the individual retailer’s discretion whether change is given for a purchase less than the value of a paper voucher.

For gift card and eVoucher purchases less than the total voucher value, the remaining balance will be available to use at a later date.

Paper vouchers are available in denominations of £1, £5, £10, £25, £50.

Gift cards can be loaded with any value between £5 and £250.

An eVoucher can be loaded with any value between £5 and £500.

Some cards that we make available through loyalty or incentive schemes can be re-loaded, but these cards are not available via this website or from participating garden retailers.

Card balances can be checked using our balance checker or calling the balance enquiry line 0121 260 2849 and entering the 16-digit card number on the reverse of the card.

We are unable to replace lost, stolen, expired or damaged National Garden Gift Vouchers.

If you believe there is a fault with your card please contact 0121 268 3210.

You can check if your card has been activated by using the balance checker.

If your card has not been activated, you will need to contact the retailer who sold the card directly to resolve this issue.

The HTA cannot accept liability for any un-activated cards.
